Food discovery is all about serendipitous moments – being in the right place at the right time. At Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, the newly refurbished Feast@East Buffet Restaurant showcases a sumptuous Heritage Singapore Buffet that is winning new fans in the process.
Katong is a living time capsule. Besides the refreshed lightings and a revamped layout of the restaurant, the newly refurbished Feast@East Buffet Restaurant also features nostalgic items from the old times of Singapore and traditional Peranakan crockery to reflect the rich culture of Katong.
We like the way Feast@East Buffet Restaurant embracing Peranakan-themed menu that adds modern twists to Asian classics, with traditional Peranakan menu options such as Babi Buah Keluak and Babi Ponteh (Stewed Pork with Fermented Soya Bean).
The Food Trail
Feast@East Buffet Restaurant dishes out varieties of food that caters to all diners. Try reminiscing the good old days while tucking into famous local fares. Let’s take a walk to view some of their dishes.
Char Siew Chicken.
More Crabs 🙂
Butter Pork Chop.
Steamed Fish with Black Bean Sauce.
Fancy a plate of fresh sashimi?
Nasi Briyani Corner
We are fans of local Nasi Briyani, a fusion of Indian and Malay Cuisines. The briyani rice is fragrant Basmati grain, which cooks to a wonderfully light and fluffy texture. And of course we were delighted to find the dish available here.
Highly recommended. Good rice texture, succulent and choices of tender meat. This mouthwatering Nasi Biryani is bound to make many converts.
Signature Katong Laksa
Hey, do we need anymore introduction to the famous Katong laksa? Watch how our Master Chefs whip up piping hot laksa that makes you come back for second rounds.
A popular spicy noodle soup in the Peranakan cuisine, laksa consists of rice noodles or rice vermicelli served in spicy, coconut-based broth.
Time for Desserts
Don’t leave Feast@East Buffet Restaurant without trying their spread of traditional Peranakan snacks, Western patisseries and homemade local desserts such as the Signature Durian Paste, Banana Cake using home-made recipe, traditional“Tong Shui” (hot soup desserts) or DIY Ice Kacang (shaved ice) to end off the meal.
Seeing is believing. Selections galore.
So, we ended with an ice cream treat.
