3D2N Phuket Travelogue – Day 1 (Part 1): Amazing Beachfront Phuket Hotel Stay @ Patong Marina

Phuket is our first overseas destination in the month of November. This is not our first trip to the Land of Smiles. Our visit to Kidzania Bangkok exactly a year ago is still very fresh in our minds. We had seen the most amazing landscapes, met incredibly friendly Thai people, tasted flavourful food and encountered many amazing discoveries in Thailand.

This time round, we knew in our hearts that this trip to Phuket will see us discover wonderful “gems” along the way. We unanimously agreed that we shall stay at Patong.

But why Patong?

Simple! Simply because it has the famous Patong beach, shopping attractions and great eating places.

Big and Small M were sooooo excited when they heard we will be staying at PATONG MARINA HOTEL.

Getting to Patong Marina Hotel is a breeze. Mention it to any taxi driver in the airport and they will have no problem to bring you to the hotel. The distance from Phuket airport to Patong Marina Hotel is only about 39km.

Before I could take forty winks in the taxi, we reached our destination in 40 mins! This huge white building is Patong Marina Hotel where we are staying. The Patong Marina Hotel is a boutique beach side hotel home to 23 beautiful & uniquely designed rooms.

The best part of this hotel? It is just right in front of Patong beach!

We were greeted by Kyaw, their warm and friendly reception staff.

You will be pleased to learn that Patong Marina Hotel has a new lobby. The coziness and warmth of the lobby offers the perfect respite after a busy day of exploring Phuket. Ok, WIFI is a must (you know what I mean when you are travelling)! And it is readily provided to hotel guests. I tested it on the spot and it’s strength 5 out of 5. 🙂

THE LOBBY (DURING THE DAY)

THE LOBBY (AT NIGHT)

We are pleased that checking into Patong Marina Hotel was a breeze. Kyaw readily bring us to our rooms. We are very impressed that he took the initiative to carry our luggages along the way. This hotel does not have lift. But it should not be a problem as it has only four levels. The hotel staff is more than happy to assist you! 🙂

The hotel has a huge and spacious balcony/patio area for guests to chill out and relax.

Including him 🙂

Are you ready to see our rooms? Let’s go!

Wow! You see what I mean? Beach activities at your doorsteps!

THE QUADRUPLE ROOM WITH SEA VIEW

# It can easily accommodate a family of 4!

# You get what you want … the sea view at your doorsteps

We were greeted by the spaciousness of this quadruple room.

Alright, they are too excited and started to climb up and down the bunk beds…

Big and Small M can snuggle in the room and stuck to the TV cartoon channel all day long!

No lack of space to hang your clothings.

Safe is provided.

Wind down and brew a cup of coffee or tea.

As Patong beach is just right in front, you can imagine how breezy it is when we are chilling out at the balcony.

THE CONVENIENCE OF PATONG MARINA HOTEL

# Map doesn’t lie. Whatever amenities you need, you have it nearby! Look at the pictures I snapped below.

# Jungceylon Shopping Centre  is just 5 mins drive by hopping into a Tuk Tuk

# Royal Paradise Night Market is less than 1km away

The beauty of staying at Patong Marina Hotel is the convenience. We are amazed that Tuk Tuk are always (and we mean it) in front of the hotel waiting for passengers.

Convenience stores are open 24/7 and just right beside Patong Marina Hotel.

Shops and shops everywhere. You can eat, drink, shop, sight-see and even more. All these are in close proximity to the hotel.

THE PATONG BEACH

# The famous Patong beach is just in front of Patong Marina Hotel

# Make shift carts selling local delicacies will make your mouth drool

# Make a dash to the playground!

# Or enjoy the beach and take a dip into the waters!

Kids being kids. They get excited and jumpy easily over waters.

Little M is so busy building her sand castle that she has no time for everyone!

The waters of Patong beach is so clear and cooling! Everyone was drenched but we love every single moment and bits of our time in Patong!

Thank you Patong Marina Hotel for hosting us for a weekend stay.

It is the genuine hospitality of the Reservation Manager, Ms. Florencia Richeri, and the warm smiles of the hotel staff here that creates sweet memories for Katong Kids.

When you travel to Phuket, check out this awesome hotel with rates starting from just 800 baht!

  1. Love being in the centre of all the actions!!! And with kids, convenience is everything… we love to stay near food, shops, massages, entertainment, beaches whenever we travel especially to Thailand. But unfortunately we didn’t stay at patong beach (stayed at another quieter family friendly beach) as we had young babies at that time!
Was the hotel quiet during night time? (with clubs nearby ~ music n drunkards)
Can’t wait to go back to Thailand 😉

  2. I have not been to Phuket yet. This place looks like a good place to stay because I love how convenient it is from everything. Plus love the balcony with the sea view. I would like to wake up to that. Is it quiet though? Since I got a baby, though he can still sleep through the night which is great hehe

  3. Your pictures brought back memories for me especially those road side food stalls. The food taste really yummy! Love your stay. Really good for the family. Will keep this in mind if I go there again 🙂

  4. The exterior of the hotel reminds me of a colonial style building, akin to the Raffles Hotel! You guys seem to have such much fun, I’ll be keeping Phuket in mind the next time I’m planning a family trip 🙂

  5. Gotta love the convenience of the hotel location. We tend to stay away from Patong when we are in Phuket though. My kids are a lot younger, so we stay at quieter beaches like Surin or Talang.
