Nestled between Beach Road and North Bridge Road is Purvis Street which is abuzz with an array of restaurants. The sight of conserved shophouses clustered near to towering modern skyscrapers, notably The South Beach, caught our attention.
There is plenty to eat at Purvis Street and we find ourselves exploring Adonis Hotel‘s in-house restaurant, Argo Restaurant. Adonis Hotel’s beautiful entrance, cozy seating and bistro appearance makes you feel just right at home. The tastefully designed hotel creates a sense of harmony between the new interior and the old building.
While awaiting for your orders, chill out at this sweet spot and treat yourself to “all day snacks” at Argo Restaurant. This is a good news for those with a sweet tooth and a never-ending list of cravings. The free-flow snack bar by the lobby is all yours.
Yes, it’s complimentary. Take your pick of various cookies, lollipops, chocolates and much more 🙂
Contrary to some impression that boutique hotels’ restaurant food prices are pricey, we felt the prices are decent. Argo Restaurant’s specialities come in the form of the best-selling Chilli Crab Pasta, Fruitti Di Mare Pizza, and Beer-Battered Fish and Chips. Vegetarians will love the Pomarola and Al Funghi, and dessert-addicts should try the Pandan Panna Cotta. Here’s a copy of the food menu (prices are subject to prevailing charges and taxes).
Chilli Crab Spaghetti – Italian dish with a local twist, crispy soft shell crab with spicy tangy sauce ($12.90).
Prosciutto E Funghi – Tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham and mushroom ($13.90).
Al Funghi – Cheese infused cream sauce with wild mushrooms and parsley ($11.90).
Organic Beer Battered Fish and Chips – crispy thin crust beer battered fish and chips served with fries ($14.90).
