REASON 1: A BRAND NEW LOOK
The hotel is operating in full swing following the completion of renovation programme in 2013. The moment we stepped into Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, we were greeted by a tastefully renovated, contemporary and classy lobby. This brand new look is indeed a total transformation. To top it all, the hotel is up and ready to usher in the Year of the Monkey. Here we are, spreading abundant prosperity and great joy to all readers!
Due to its close proximity to Changi Airport (15 min drive), do you know that Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is one of the highly preferred hotels for airline crew to stay?
The revamped lobby provides guests with much needed space and sitting area. Warm neutral colors chosen in the lobby create a calm and tranquil atmosphere.
The hotel understands the importance of staying connected. iMac desktop stations are placed at the lobby for guests to use.
REASON 2: ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS AND NEW
We were given a Studio Suite and we were completely impressed! This room is 52 sqm. Speaking of land-scarce Singapore, staying in a 52 sqm Studio Suite is simply amazing. It was spacious, well-designed and very cozy.
The Suite has plenty of space for us to roam and explore. It is well equipped with easy broadband access to the complimentary Internet and WiFi, telephone with IDD service for international business calls, a LCD flat screen TV with cable channels and radio channels, self-controllable air-conditioning, iron and ironing board, safe deposit box, mini-bar, complimentary coffee and tea making facilities, voicemail, hairdryer, over-mattress and bathroom amenities with bathrobe and slippers.
Newspapers are provided for hotel guests.
Complimentary coffee and tea making facilities. Caffeine addicts will love this 🙂
We love the fact that the room slippers were really thick, comfortable and soft to wear on.
The Bathroom was spacious as well. Basic toiletries such as toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo/soap, shaver, shower cap were sufficiently provided.
They were cute and imprinted with the hotel’s brand.
Whenever there is bathtub, it is always a favorite spot for Big & Small M. While we prefer to use standing shower, both of them will always insist to relax and soak in it.
The water flow and pressure in the shower were strong and gave us really good and warm bath!
A staycation will not be completed without having cartoon channels in the room. They were totally glued to the TV screen watching their favorite cartoon shows. Hey, how about us? There are up to 45 channels to choose from.
REASON 3: EXECUTIVE LOUNGE
Guests staying in Executive rooms and all suites are entitled access to the Executive Lounge on Level 17. Guests may request for late checkout until 4.00pm (subject to hotel availability). Oh yes, check-out service is available in the lounge from 7am to 11pm for guests’ convenience.
The highlight of this staycation was the Executive Lounge. All day refreshments, complimentary breakfast and evening drinks with hors d’oeuvres are available. In addition, you can also experience a breath-taking view of the sea!

Complimentary two-hour use of the Executive Lounge Boardroom is available for guests.

2. Swimming Pool
Every kids will love to swim. What’s more when you’re staying in a hotel. Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy has pools of different depth to cater for its guests. So, when you want to sunbathe, swim, or simply relax with your refreshing drink, hop to the swimming pool.
Big and Small M really love to swim. So much that they visited the swimming pool for two consecutive days!
3. Fitness Centre (24 Hours)
Are you a fitness freak? The hotel Fitness Centre on level 4 is fully equipped with treadmills, stationary bikes, a stair climber, free weights and strength training equipment. Best of all, it is opened 24 hours.
4. Launderette (24 Hours)
The hotel’s coin operated launderette facility is located on level 4. Laundry baskets, iron and ironing board are available. Launderette cost includes washing detergent.
5. Free Shuttle Bus Services

Ever since my 19 months old toddler started childcare life in the beginning of January , she had been crying real lots .
