We attended The Future Of Us exhibition, which caps the country’s SG50 celebrations, at Gardens by the Bay. This exhibition is an immersive and multi-sensory experience that offers a glimpse into the possibilities of how Singaporeans can live, work, play, care and learn in the future. The exhibition also calls on Singaporeans to share their hopes and dreams for themselves, their family and the nation, and to participate in steering the Singapore journey towards the future. It is the capstone event to round up Singapore’s SG50 year of celebrations.
There are six immersive and interactive zones that are accessible to visitors of all ages.
ZONE 1: THE FUTURE EXPRESS
Yesterday’s journey paved the way for today’s progress and tomorrow’s opportunities. In this mixed-media installation, fast forward through 1965, 2015 and 2030 to discover the core values that resonate through the generations.
ZONE 2: THEATRE OF GENERATIONS
We hopped into the Theatre Of Generations that allows visitors to follow the life journey of ordinary Singaporeans in a 360-degree dome projection.
ZONE 3: SYMPHONY OF THE CITY
Experience how greater flexibility in transportation, living spaces and leisure concepts could allow us to set our own rhythm and live to the beat of our own hearts. Step into the possibilities of tomorrow through an immersive show with one of the largest LED screens ever built in Singapore!
ZONE 4: HOME TOMORROW
What kind of community will we build in the future? How will we take even better care of our own? What are the multiple pathways to fulfilment in our learning, work and life? How can we take charge of our environment and our communities? Let your imagination run wild in this experiential zone where creative innovations and lifestyle concepts interpret how we could work, live, learn, care and play.
ZONE 5: BLUE SKIES
What are your dreams or wishes for Singapore’s tomorrow? Share your dreams by casting them into a digital wishing well and watch them join a constellation of other wishes in the digital galaxy. This is the zone which we spent most of our time. We had so much fun writing and writing our dreams!
ZONE 6: THE LION
As citizens who own a stake in this tiny red dot we call home, it is now up to us to get involved in turning these possibilities into our reality. Join in the play space and power up our dreams together.
