There’s just something about Via Hotel Ximen @ Taipei
Nestled in the heart of 西門町 Ximending, the ‘Harajuku and Shibuya of Taipei”, is a rather unassuming boutique hotel that has much to offer her guests. Every traveller will know it is a big-must to visit 西門町 Ximending if you are travelling to Taipei. It is the source of Taiwan’s fashion, subculture, and Japanese culture. On top of it, it is also the most important consumer district in the Western District of Taipei.
Our family adventure took place over the school holidays, where our whole family was hosted by Via Hotel Ximen. We were totally blessed throughout the stay. We had such a wonderful time in 西門町 Ximending and Via Hotel Ximen played a big part in making our stay so memorable that Big and Small M keep singing praises of it till today.

Our 3D2N long journey in Phuket ended with a visit to Jungceylon Shopping Mall in Patong. For the first-timers to Phuket, many have the impression that this place is just beaches and seas. But hey, it’s a pleasant surprise to find a huge shopping mall in the heart of Patong! Continue reading “3D2N Phuket Travelogue – Day 2 (Part 4): Jungceylon Shopping Mall in Patong”

3D2N Phuket Travelogue – Day 1 (Part 1): Amazing Beachfront Phuket Hotel Stay @ Patong Marina
Phuket is our first overseas destination in the month of November. This is not our first trip to the Land of Smiles. Our visit to Kidzania Bangkok exactly a year ago is still very fresh in our minds. We had seen the most amazing landscapes, met incredibly friendly Thai people, tasted flavourful food and encountered many amazing discoveries in Thailand.
This time round, we knew in our hearts that this trip to Phuket will see us discover wonderful “gems” along the way. We unanimously agreed that we shall stay at Patong.
But why Patong?
Simple! Simply because it has the famous Patong beach, shopping attractions and great eating places.
Big and Small M were sooooo excited when they heard we will be staying at PATONG MARINA HOTEL. Continue reading “3D2N Phuket Travelogue – Day 1 (Part 1): Amazing Beachfront Phuket Hotel Stay @ Patong Marina”

For those who are familiar with Katong district, you would definitely have heard of Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy. It lies in the heart of historical Katong, just opposite the Parkway Parade Shopping Centre.
WAVE Café is located inside Roxy hotel. I reckon many of us have not heard of this café, let alone visiting or dining over there. Continue reading “WAVE Cafe @ Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy”
Country Chicken @ Marine Parade Central
Many fast food restaurants have popped up over the years offering various menu items. Apart from the likes of the usual famous brands, I’m sure not many of us have heard of Country Fried Chicken from Australia. Continue reading “Country Chicken @ Marine Parade Central”
Jalan Batu Hawker Centre and Market
Nestled at corner of Tanjong Rhu you can find a simple tranquillity of Jalan Batu HDB estate. This is an old estate of more than 40 years old, with more than 20 per cent of its residents above the age of 50.
I reckon not many Singaporeans would know of Jalan Batu, let alone coming over to this East part of the island. With the inevitability of modern development, whether this estate will continue to exist or suffer the same fate of Dakota Crescent remains for all to see. Wanton Mee @ Restoran 何成記 Ho Seng Kee
Wanton mee is a favourite Cantonese noodle dish in many parts of Asia. I have tried it countless times locally, in Malaysia and Thailand.
I heard my parents bragging over a restoran by the name of Ho Seng Kee which sells wanton mee. I was like, “Ok, anything special about it?” When I heard they had to queue up to half an hour everytime they made a trip down to taste the wanton mee it did raise my eyebrow.
