A short drive away from Singapore of slightly more than 40km is a place called Kulai. Kulai (simplified Chinese: 古来; traditional Chinese: 古來; pinyin: gulái), is a town in the Kulaijaya district of Johor, Malaysia.
We blogged on a visit to Kulai previously. Do you know that Kulai is probably one of the best kept treasures in JB? While many love to visit KSL City to do grocery shopping over the weekends, we discover Kulai actually has a mega shopping mart called Super Cowboy that we can do shopping on almost anything you can think of.
We are going to blog on what you can find at Super Cowboy for your household.
Kulai Jaya
We entered Malaysia via Tuas Checkpoint. It took us about 40 mins to reach Kulai Jaya by car.
Before heading over to Super Cowboy, we explored the neighbourhood. We loved checking out these shops.
The sun was scorching. However, nothing beats visiting Kulai and exploring the streets. We don’t get such opportunity back in our urban landscape in Singapore.
Where can we find such traditional coffeeshops nowadays?
We had our lunch here and tried their wanton noodles.
It cost RM $5 per plate (est. SGD $1.80).
Kulaijaya
Super Cowboy is located at Kulai Centrepoint. This is by far, the most prominent building around the vicinity.
In this building, there is even a boutique hotel called Creator Hotel. It’s very beautiful and cozy inside.

Let’s go Super Cowboy and check it out.
